About Coffee Lava

Discover the bold flavors of El Salvador’s volcanic highlands while supporting sustainable farming and community initiatives.

In the highlands of El Salvador’s Usulután region, Berlin’s volcanic coffee weaves a rich tale of German heritage, resilience, and modern innovation, sparked by its legendary founder, Serafín Brennen, a German immigrant who, after surviving a shipwreck in the 1880s, named the town after his homeland’s capital and cultivated coffee on the fertile slopes of the Tecapa Volcano. At 1,300 to 1,350 meters, Berlin’s mineral-rich volcanic soil produces exceptional Arabica beans—Bourbon, Pacas, and Pacamara—bursting with chocolate, caramel, and citrus notes, perfected through sustainable shade-grown practices and black honey processing. Since 2023, Berlin has also embraced the future as El Salvador’s fastest-growing Bitcoin circular economy, with over 120 local businesses accepting Bitcoin via the Lightning Network, blending Brennen’s pioneering spirit with cutting-edge financial innovation. Savor Berlin’s world-class coffee and connect with a legacy that fuses German roots, volcanic terroir, and a vibrant Bitcoin-driven community in every bold, flavorful sip.
